Sony BRAVIA KDL-52W4100 Customer Review

LCD TV's No Comments »
by Dave Anderson

I purchased this TV in the late 2008 and have found it to be an a really good purchase.

Some people said that the television has problems while the black shades are dynamic. I’ve checked for this in the store for couple of minutes and have used it for a month and I haven’t seen any sign of that issue. This is a extremely sharp TV with superior colors and strong black tones. This tv Set is much better than the previous TV W model.

Here is why you should get this LCD TV. It has a very perfect image in digital broadcast and does a flawless job in SD transmission better than some other tv sets I have seen. For that it’s respossible a great technology from Sony named DSP which is essentially noise reduction technology. Sony of course knows Blu-ray because they invented it, they know what color tones should look like I mean they hold a movie studio, the tv menus are actually simple to use, it has its own TV guide and it has capability for future expansion.

Picture quality is pretty near Samsung in high definition. I looked at both TVs side by side. Samsung is slightly better on sharpnes in analog broadcast. Samsung has more glare, Sony has a matte cover but blacks on Samsung are solid because it has a glossy screen. While viewing a Blu-ray disc,Sony has a bit more details. No fade from white to black issues on Sony as some reviews has noticed. Colors are pleasant and bright as Sony Bravia two engine is outstanding, maybe even better than XBR engine.I’ve heard the Z series may be better but there isn’t 52” models

Tv menus on Samsungs are created for experts with a lots of tweeks, but actually it’s unclear for average user. If you doubt that, download the user manual for the Samsung LN52A650 and for Sony KDL524100 and see for yourself. If you are technical person, go for the LN52A650. If you don’t like to get lost in menus, but you want an excellent image, go with the Sony. Ths Sony TV is very simple to use, but also it automatically finds digital channels and is like you get also a built in cable box.

The Sony television may not have the Ethernet connector and built in weather like the series 6 from Samsung, but it does have the built in TV guide and future expansion. But, if you want internet in your TV, you are better to be connected through external device. The TV guide option in this tv set is great and the Sony Bravia Sync is a big plus specially if you use a Sony DVD converter for 1080p. Picture in Picture technology is super as well because it’s allowing you to watch picture from HDMI and at the same time watch cable TV.

For me favorite thing on Sony KDL52W4100 is the power button on the top side as this is stoping kids from shuting down TV. Also a good thing is the remote on the Sony as it is really easy to operate.

Overall, if you want the a very clean picture, simple to use LCD TV with characteristics that makes regular television watching smooth and easy. This Sony KDL52W4100 is outstanding selection.

Sony KDL46W4100

LCD TV's No Comments »
by Marc Bidderman

The Sony KDL46W4100 is an attractive and extremely featured LCD tv set. We were mostly impressed by its performance, black color is very dark, accurate white colors and a brilliant display. This TV has also some negative sides, as the color gamut is a little off and the viewing angle are not very good.

If you look often some type of fast moving action on your TV, then this HDTV television has got a plenty of things to offer you. The Sony KDL46W4100 performed good in our motion tests. We experienced smooth movement with movies that contained lots of movement, and the televison had no problem serving a good image.

This Sony supports a full High Definition or real HD signal. The selection of input and output ports is great, having a 4 HDMI interfaces. Regrettably it does lack a USB port or some card reader.

This TV set also offers TruSurround and that is a patented SRS technology that enables running 5.1 channel content over two speaker units. This Sony delivers a excellent virtual surround sound with any two speaker units, including internal TV speaker units and also headphones. It is fully compatible with all multichannel formats up to 5.1 channels. This tv set also has three sound enhancement technologies to produce an awesome sound. Outstanding sound with the solid picture quality truly makes this Sony Bravia TV a great one.

The Sony Bravia KDL46W4100 executed good in our tests of blacks and whites. Black colors were precise deep, particularly for an LCD TV of this price tag. White colors and greys were brilliant and precise. This television really has superior colors, we have seen consistent white colors and a clear, accurate representation of the primary colors that are used to make all colors on the screen. We were happy with color precision, but we have noticed a really small problem with the TV’s color gamut, which means colors may not always be precisely they should.

Maybe the largest problem with the Sony Bravia KDL-46W4100 is a viewing angle. Looking from aside we found that the contrast ratio was decreasing. Contrast ratio is the difference in reproducing the black and light colors. This tv set doesn’t have a very good viewing angle, even for an LCD TV, which usually don’t perform as well in this area as Plasma TVs.

The remote control of Sony Bravia KDL46W4100 is really enjoyable to take in your hand and it’s well designed with the exception that the controls for direction are at the different ends of the remote control from the channel buttons. The menu on the television is corresponding of that used in the PS3, and will require some time to get used to it.

Energy consumption is around average. You can use this LCD TV without worrying you will get a large bill for electrics.

This Sony KDL46W4100 is a very great TV, with a full feature set and brilliant performance on nearly all fields. The viewing angle matter will be serious for pickier ones. If you need a TV that will sit in a place where people will be looking at it from all angles you may want to go with a Plasma. If this isn’t an issue for you, then you you are going to get your money’s worth with the Sony KDL46W4100.

Samsung LN52A750 Customer Report

LCD TV's No Comments »
by Nick Kusina

Samsung LN46A750 has a fantastic picture quality right out of the box, but if you want the greatest image quality you should have it calibrated. There is nothing like this tv sets when it it’s fine-tuned for your environment.

Samsungs TOC or Touch Of (Red) Color, I’ve heard a lot of conversations about it. For me it is barely noticeable and gives it a nice look on the edges of this Samsung LN52A750.

I have been truly happy with this TV. It posses a lot of connectors and good quality. You should read the instructions with caution if you have any component connecters because just 1 set on the television has that function and it says composite on the back.

There are some minor issues but nothing to worry about. The operating system is a little slow. When browsing menus sometimes it takes a while to respond but I’m picky about that. Some of the remote buttons like the jog wheel operate better for a person who uses it slower and presses with more strenght.

Buttons for channels and volume squeak slighty but not in an unpleasant way. The other negative thing of the remote is it is not universal. I don’t like that a TV in this price range doesn’t come with one.

The picture quality of HD stuff are stunning with right and decently vivid colors. Not over saturated and too processed like Sony televisons. Sometimes the upscaling of low quality signals leaves something to be desired. There are times when a person’s face can look a bit grainy or blocky. This can be well resolved by using a High Definition source. With HD sources this set is perfectly awesome.

Use it with Blu ray player or some other High Definition source and you will be in heaven. I just love it. Only keep in mind that this television, like other superior contrast tvs, uses a bit glossy screen which can reflect so be take care of your light sources nearby. It shines something like a normal flat screen tube TV with common glass, maybe a bit less.

Last the audio is decent. I have never been a fan of the built in audio on any TV but for those who don’t worry about that the sound is just fine. One thing I have discovered though is that the television processes image quicker than my own amplifier processes sound. It happens that the TV can go before of my surround sound system and the sounds don’t align. This is easily resolved by pausing the picture and start it again. It happens rarely and usually only when I start or when I’m fast forwarding a video.

Conclusion is that this is a outstanding television, and probably the best LCD TV at this price range, money well spent and will fulfill absolutely everyone.

With Samsung’s products you can’t never go wrong. And you for sure can’t do a mistake in taking this unique Samsung LN52A750. We hope that we assisted someone to make the right decision. I can promise to you that I can assure you that you will like this Television, exactly as much as I do.

How To Buy LCD TV’s Cheap

LCD TV's No Comments »
by Marc Bidderman

Although manufacturers of LCD TVs may slashing down prices, there are still people who like televisons they can get at significantly reduced prices. If you’re watching your wallet but don’t want to sacrifice the quality of viewing pleasure, here are a couple tips how to find and buy a less expensive HDTV.

Check out discount shopping stalls and departments. Even name brands have cheaper televisons in these places. If you can spend up to $500, take a couple of hours checking out the units in these places and you will be going get back with a brand new televison that won’t cost you all your money.

Don’t get a brand name. This is a best way if you’re the type of buyer that does not needs a brand names. There are some new names today that are competition for the top brands. Try names like Vizio, Insignia, Syntax, Maxent and Olevia. If you believe the $1,400 price is too high for a 37 inch brand name television, you will be happy to know that many less popular brands have a 50″ plasma television for a low price of just $1300.

Refurbished televisons are a lot cheaper than those televisions you find on display at the local electronics shop. And most of them are actually brand new except that they have just been repaired or restored in some way. If you try hard, you can find a televison very cheap that has only a thin dent on the exterior, nothing else.

Should you purchase refurbished, you should always go to an formal retailer or dealer so you can be assured of quality.

Even big players have to give in when the sales season starts. The sense behind this is very simple. Manufacturers look for some parts of a year when the impulse to buy surges. This is why there’s a lof of sale events going on at Christmas time, everybody simply have the reason to purchase and they have the cash.

If you would like to get a cheap LCD TV, consider purchasing at the sales season. You may get much as 20% off if you’re lucky you could get the same tv set at a lot cheaper prices. Also, there is no need to worry about the quality of the unit.

If you don’t care about the age of the unit, you could purchase some older model cheaper. Go check your local retailers regularly and kindly ask salesperson for a heads up if there is any clearance sales coming soon. You should be one of the first in the store should that happen so you can choose good televisions.
