Its been a couple of years since the first blu-ray players hit the market, but it seems to have taken a while for them to begin utilising all the features that this type of machine is capable of, probably a ploy by the big 4 to hold back what they were capable of, untill the purchase price began to fall, features like picture in picture (bonus view) and internet enabled multimedia content BD live for supporting titles.
The BD-P2500 blu-ray disc player is amongst the first to be able to stream Netflix without any of the issues other machines have experienced.
You can if you prefer to utilise the USB port on the rear, to download firmware updates, or you can use an ethernet cable via a broadband router, either way is quick and easy but neccesary to keep updated as the software companies continue to improve.

is the fastest I have ever seen in loading DVD discs, recoreded at 16 seconds and an equally impressive 43 seconds to enable it to load a blu-ray disc.
Setting up is a breeze, particularly since I had a laptop nearby to help with accessing the online services available, such as the Netflix and Pandora for streaming internet radio (not to everyones choice).
