The king of LCD HDTVs, Samsung, have just released their latest line of LCD High Def Televisions with their latest ‘Touch Of Color’ design. They have been dominating the markets since their release, and touted by many consumers to be the best HDTV series ever to be released.
Buyers these days are not as commonly interested in purchasing TVs with screen sizes less than 46 inches.
Please read my below review of the Samsung LN46B650 46 inch model, which I purchased a few weeks ago.
Just as the name suggests, the Samsung LN46B650 46 inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color has a translucent red trim around the edges of the high gloss black finish frame. The design of this particular model is slightly different than the rest of the latest Samsung series (and better, in my personal opinion).
The bottom edge of the TV frame has a slight downward curve to accent the red touch of color design, and it has a thin rectangular swivel base stand. I think the design of the TV makes it look very cool and very expensive!
Since I bought my Samsung LN46B650 LCD HDTV a few weeks ago, I’ve watched loads of Blu-ray movies on it and I have to say that the picture quality is absoloutely mind blowing. The screen itself has been improved since the previous Samsung series to make the whites lighter and the blacks darker, which produces crisp, clear images.
One downside about this model, though, is that it’s screen itself has a high gloss finish. This means that it can sometimes reflect light off it, which is quite annoying if you have it in a bright room during the day. If you are planning on buying a TV for a bright room then I’d suggest maybe going for a Samsung 630 model instead. With their matte finish screens, this won’t be much of a problem.
The sound system of this model has been upgraded from previous Samsung models, but I still feel that it could be a little better… But then again, it’s not like the sound is the number one feature you’d be looking for when buying a TV.
The coolest feature of the Samsung LN46B650 46 inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color, in my opinion, is that it’s internet ready straight out of the box. All you need to do is plug in the Ethernet connection and you’re off! You can browse and download content from YouTube, Flickr and Yahoo via your remote control! Not too shabby, huh!?
